A winery & spa in Napa Valley inspired by a California native flower, the Evening Primrose. This is a project that began from observing the detials of the flower, extracting an abstract pattern from a chosen quadrant of the drawn flower and using the pattern as a master plan for the Landscape and Architecture on the site. Contour lines, many superimposed grids and the philosophy of the primrose guide the project. Just as the California Primrose wears its internal clock on its sleeve, the central path in this winery serves as a educational procession to learn about the clockwork production of wine. This resort is for curious individuals who are both looking to relax, learn and become mesmorized by the systematic fabrication of wine all while being amongst nature in both is wildest and most curated forms.
